What is a Family Residence Permit?
The type of residence permit granted to foreign nationals in family status for the purpose of protecting family unity is called family residence permit (family residence permit). The family residence permit is given to the foreign national through the person called the sponsor.
Regulations regarding family residence permit are contained in the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458. In addition, the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901 includes regulations on the subject.

IMPORTANT: The family residence permit process touches on different parts of the legislation. However, it has some consequences in terms of the provisions of International Private Law. Therefore, this residence permit application has a serious legal basis. It is always recommended to continue the process with the help of a lawyer in order not to cause undesirable results with erroneous or neglected transactions.
Who is given a Family Residence Permit?
The regulation regarding the persons who can apply for a family residence permit is included in Article 34 of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection. According to the article regulation; Turkish citizens, persons who have lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining a leave to leave, foreigners who have a residence permit in Turkey, refugees and persons who are not accepted as refugees who cannot be sent back to their country of origin or citizenship;

Foreign minor child of himself or his spouse,
dependent foreign child of himself or his spouse,
family can apply for a residence permit. A family residence permit application is made on the basis of the above-mentioned persons. Supporters are expressed as supporters.
Persons who can apply for family residence permit are shown in the law as explained above. Only those who meet the above conditions can be granted a family residence permit. For this reason, the process should be carefully evaluated and the application should be made in this way.
The duration of the family residence permit is three years at the most. After the end of the three-year period, it is necessary to apply again for the renewal of the permit. In case the residence permit holder of the sponsor, which is shown as a basis in the application, is another foreigner, a family residence permit may be granted, not exceeding the permit period of this person.
